Do you think that social networking sites like myspace and facebook are addictive?? Why or why not??

yes,

there a great way to keep in touch with old friends or people in your past or present. i have a few people on mine from like kindergarten and its just fun to see how people turn out. so yes im addicted.

Do you think that social networking sites like myspace and facebook are addictive?? Why or why not??
Well, I know some people people are addicted to sites like myLot:

http://www.mylot.com/?ref=Astralking

because after all the more they "socialize", the more money they make. The page is something like a cross between yahoo answers %26amp; myspace. Too bad yahoo answers lets you only earn points. But well, it is addictive just the same.

That said, I think every social networking site that appeals to the hunter-gatherer part of the male instinct (but I know for sure some women have that instinct, too), has a heightened potential to be addictive. The main question here is: where does the addiction start? I mean: When do you begin to realize, that you are addicted? Is it the day when your friends or family members point out to you, that you spend more time socializing on myspace (for example) than participating in real life activites?

I think this is a very good, but also a very difficult question to answer, because it concerns almost every computer-savvy person with a moderately fast internet connection. I also have a strong feeling that social networking sites will be much more dominant in the future than they are today.
Reply:It can if you allow it to, just like anything else. I have a MySpace page, after I swore I never would. I check it once a day, and leave it at that. It might help that I'm a little bit older than the crowd that uses it the most, but it's really a conscious decision that you're making, if you sit for so long on one page, or in front of the PC for a long time.
Reply:Myspace is very easy to use and its a great way to socialize with friends when not on the phone, its great for meeting new people. Facebook can be a bit confusing with all those add-ons, but it depends really for what you want it..

Anyways, both are great. (But myspace is better :P)
Reply:They can be addicting, if you are on them to much. A person can become addicted to anything. I don't have a myspace, but I do have facebook, and I think it's great. Lot's of people I know have it.
