Not really...
Do you think social networking websites are detrimental to the health of young people?
Definitely. They give the false feeling of social life. But where's the smell? We ARE animals, and we cannot socialise with a computer. I'm talking from first hand experience, not as some uninformed parrent.
Reply:Yes, I think websites like MySpace, Xanga and Friendster will. I see so many middle-school kids running around meeting strangers and watching bad things behing their parents' backs. I kinda feel bad for them in a way. It does bad for them in the long run.
Look at the news--people get raped like that.

Reply:they can be dangerous. when kids who don't know any better give people online personal info, it can cause harm.
kids (under 16 i'd say) should not be doing anything online unless their parents are aware of what they are doing and with whom.
it's no different than kids going out with friends.... parents should know where they are going and with whom.
