Why are gay men social networking pages so ostentatious?

I mean, str8 men don`t fill their pages with naked women, str8 women don`t fill their pages with naked men. Are gay men only sexual images? Have they nothing else to show?


P.S. I don`t have anything agains gay men, just that I don`t understand this.

Im gay, 34, PA, male. I know what you mean though. I don't know why the profiles have to have PNP, bottom, right off the bat. Mine doesn't. It is actually annoying at times. So many wonderful men have made themselves out to be cool when they actually are coming off as hogs. Good question

I know that you aren't technically allowed to post nude stuff on MySpace or Yahoo! 360, but even if you were, I wouldn't do it.

Well, actually, ostentatious is usually meant to be showy or loud in a "cool" way. But it can also be used to show that one is vulgar or tawdry. You're right, I was just thinking of only the more common usage.
