Any alternative to social networking site?

I don’t mean facebook, myspace, friendster – or any of those popular website where you can get in touch with long lost classmate/friend/relatives, etc…





Website like www.meetup.com or www.meetin.org?





The only problem I see with www.meetup.com – they charge members to run a group or even to pay for an event? Even their social events not even 20 people show up?!

Any alternative to social networking site?
I don't know how it is but try www.craigslist.com they have a single site, and they are all over the USA.
